The main guiding principles of the Intensified Accelerated programs are in the Touching the Spirit model.

Other core principles are the ones directly associated with the issues of acceleration and intensity of teaching.

If our students come to us one year behind and we do a great job with them teaching them so well that they make a year’s growth on the standardized tests—they are still a year behind. So we must use methods in addition to the traditional ones if we are going to accelerate students who are significantly behind.
